“As so many have said, it’s a club no one wants to belong to. But once you’re in it, my God, the women you will meet are extraordinary.” - Hope Edelman, Author of NY Time’s bestselling book Motherless Daughters.
Motherless Daughters Club (also known as Dead Mommy’s Club) is an Instagram page that I’ve created for women across the globe to publicly remember their Mothers. People die, but memories do not - let’s keep them alive.
I lost my Mother a few weeks after the ball dropped in 2017 - I was twenty-one and barely finished with school, she was fifty-six and had so much planned for her future. Both of us were too young to have lost the other.
One thing losing my Mother has taught me is that having a community and keeping her memory alive are two incredibly important tools that I need to utilize during this long arch of grief.
